FSSAI Basic Licences
For companies with a revenue of more than 12 lakh or by the FBO active in food production and processing, an FSSAI licence is required. The two categories of FSSAI licences are the Central and State Licence. FSSAI licences have 14 digits, with the first digit beginning with the number 1. Depending on the size of their company, FBOs must obtain a central or state licence.
State License
The state government’s FSSAI state licence is required for medium-sized processors, producers, merchants, marketers, or transporters.
A state licence is required for the FBO, which is categorised as a medium-sized FBO and has an annual revenue of more than Rs. 12 lakh but not more than Rs. 20 crore.
When its yearly turnover exceeds, the FBO is required to obtain a central licence.
Central License
The FSSAI central licence must be obtained by big businesses that process, transport, manufacture, and engage in international trade of food items. The FBO is deemed a significant business and is required to obtain an FSSAI central licence from the Central Government if its yearly turnover exceeds Rs. 20 crore.
